RTS YORKSHIRE CELEBRATES WISE OWL'S WHEN 'X' CAME TO BRITAIN SERIES

13th November 2025

Last night RTS Yorkshire and Wise Owl Films hosted a packed out evening celebrating our award-winning BBC Two documentary series When ‘X’ Came To Britain

Bringing together the series’ three acclaimed producer/directors - Stuart Ramsay, Dhivya Kate Chetty and Kate Siney - alongside executive producer Mark Robinson, the event offered a behind the scenes look at how the seven films to date were made, the stories that shaped them, and the unforgettable moments that unfolded along the way.

The panel shared a host of insights, including:

• How Bruce Springsteen ended up with a box of Yorkshire tea bags when we interviewed him at his home in New Jersey.

• What it was really like filming on stage with Blondie in front of 100,000 people at Glastonbury, an experience described by producer Kate Siney.as equal parts “electric and surreal”.

• And the moment during production of our Tina Turner film when it looked like the entire project might have to be scrapped - and how the team pulled it back from the brink by using previously unheard interviews by Tina’s biographers.

A huge thank you from us to RTS Yorkshire, the evening’s host Lakshmi Tummala and Record Plant in Farsley for making this event happen.
